Naptime noise
6 minutes of zzzzzz while I finish reassembling my modular mess which started 2 days ago and I hope to finish tomorrow.
Re: Naptime noise
Wow this sounds great, nice futuristic sounding atmos! Very well done in my opinion and nice flashy, switchy light things! I like the way you make it lead out and then come back in for a little bit, very effective, thanks for sharing $Bill!

Re: Naptime noise
Sounds awesome!
Like always, the sounds you get out of your hardware, have a nice character. The ambience is really wide and sounds very "Blue".
Cool looking lights in your studio btw!
Good stuff!

Re: Naptime noise
Many thanks, A. and H.!
The new box & configuration is up with a few new toys, though of course now that I have it going I might rearrange slightly - distance between units is a factor since I don't have enough long cables.

Re: Naptime noise
The cheapest I can find right now are $14 for 5 for basic 100cm cables which isn't bad and I should pick some up - they're often closer to $20 for 5. Nicer cables are more of course.Heigen5 wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 8:20 pmHow much does one long cable cost approx?DollarBill wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 9:17 am Cables get expensive when you need like 50 or so to do a full multi-voice patch![]()

The weird cables (stackables, glow in the dark, or LED end ones that give you a hint of what the voltages is doing and also look cool on camera) are more though - about $6 each for most length of the Stackables which are a favorite of mine, lets you easily split one modulation source to 3 locations (using it plus two other cables without using a big lumpy splitter)
Re: Naptime noise
yeah, that sounds like it could get expensive very quickly, LED ones sound fun! I love a good light show haha!

Re: Naptime noise
I was uploading my tunes to an Ambient forum on line and was told my music was not Ambient because I included too many rhythmic elements in my music. That's where it became official than no genre will have me. I'm on my own. Except your stuff is right in there with mine. We should form our own genre.

Re: Naptime noise
Yes. Every time I try to do something drone related, I always end up with too much percussion or something rhythmic to satisfy purists, but then the purists completely have lost sight of what Brian Eno started when he created the genre in the first place. Screw the gatekeepers who want to refine and define things with their narrow preconceptions.Trobador222 wrote: Thu Jan 26, 2023 5:26 pm I was uploading my tunes to an Ambient forum on line and was told my music was not Ambient because I included too many rhythmic elements in my music.
