It's been there since 2016. There are people on Reddit claiming to know the artist. Frankly, having been in that area, the rock formations are a lot more interesting.

I saw someone on Reddit saying today, the park service has removed it. Thats actually considered defacing natural formations in a National Park. They look at t as being the same as graffiti.
