A golden age internet scene back in the days

I think the golden age internet era ended when the Facebook became popular. Before that there was Myspace, but it didn't end that era in the same way as FB did. I even wouldn't use FB, but it's a great platform to promote my sound-design.
Now, the younger generation uses Tiktok, maybe some other sites too, but in my opinion the younger crowd's tastes are, um untasty.
I think I might stop using FB and only open it up, when I need to promote stuff.

I wish that there will be a new boom, whereas all the smaller platforms kick off and the whole networking world makes a comeback.
Did you know that phpbb, VBulletin etc. are used by 35 and up aged people?
It seems like the younger people want to be purposely different, haha!
Elegancy and center-generic fashion is dying and has been replaced with hysteria and rebellion.

Well yeah, I'm not gonna stop them. Anyway, I think the older folks should not give the arena away to the kids.
The golden era was the best and should raise from the grave.
Young people should not have a too big slice of the cake IMO.
And it's stupid to be different for the sake of it.

Ok. It seems that lots n lots internet users don't bother to write long texts. It also seems like people are holding back and don't bother to put any energy to the forum texts. I've also become a few sentence poster. But I have decided to put some effort into this more of.

So what kind of stuff have got too much of attention then? At least the politics, the monster social media places, bad fashions, bad people... to mention few. And what things should be conquered back? Golden age networking, elegant behavior, tasty humor, tasty music, old-school games, stylish clothes, common sense stuff etc.

And even if my "crying hard" story is unvalid and over-reacted, I think there must be some truth to it.

Naw, not bullshit. But, trust me it is not coming back. I think FB is on the same road that MySpace took. In a couple years it will be but a memory...just like SoundClick and the can.

I still use FB daily but mainly to keep track of family and friends. Seems kind of useless as the last two song posts on FB have not gotten so much as a "like". I know where this is going. I guess I will keep posting promos and wishing folks happy birthdays. It is not much good for anything else.

As for post length, I still have to reign in my verbiage. As most of you know I have a tendency to build walls of texts tho lately I post them on my site...where no one reads them

So, I guess it does not matter at all given that no one looks at what I post. I don't place blame on anyone. Like you, I think it is simply how people post now-a-days. I blame Twitter and the limit on the number of characters per post.

I stopped using FB because it allowed me to keep track of my family - and what a disappointment most of them turned out to be. Eesh... Haven't been back in 2+ years, which is good for my blood pressure.

Well yeah, it might come back or then not, but I'm sensing that after the Covid-19 and the Ukraine war, Bad politics and all the nationalistic crap, most of the people want to have a better angle to their lives. I think the youth people have got their own direction to take, just because all the s*it. Can't kinda blame them on that really. My hopes are still up for a partial comeback at least. There has always been people wanting old times back and there is always parallely something new in the pipeline. I feel very brainwashed in the nowdays, because of all the saturated content of everything. But hell, I need to get more independent and keep doing what I want. Maybe I need to move on with some of the stuff and switch my gearbox to a new gear. But yeah Marty, thanks for your interesting input!

I don't use FB much either, a great many fuck-heads on it, that is for sure. I just keep a close few friends and that's all I want. Everything is overrated and social media is a waste of time, most of the time. I'd rather spend time creating than being caught up in the stuff on there. I rather liked the good'ol'days but know I only have my memory to recall it, when I want, which makes me warm inside, great times back then they sure were, some awesome memories I have!

I've been on Reddit for about 7 years. I keep it kind of tight. I just recently found out I have something like 200 plus followers on there, though I have never followed anyone myself. I keep FB because there are people on there I care about. Some family and some friends. No one on there listens to my music. Or anywhere else for that matter.
