I got your friend request on FB. I had to laugh. There are regular bot accounts that target older men on FB posing as young women. So unless it is someone I know, I would not accept a friend request from an attractive younger women.

I get those all the time and I look at the profiles and their friend lists are always older middle aged men. I’m sure some of them are guys who just accept any friend request, but some of them are really sad old farts who are vain enough to think random young women are “ interested” in them.

I guess I am sad to be so suspicious of FB but it really is a snake pit of crap. There was a friend of my Mom’s in her 80s who was very computer literate for someone her age. She was also battling cancer. She died last year. So I ended up purging her account as a friend. Well along with your friend request this morning, I had a new friend request from the dead ladies account.

oh my that sounds strange for sure but it definitely happens with the FB algorithms that's for sure. Yes I did send you a friends request and to some others too that I recognise from not only the forums here. I also have some old canners on my FB from a long time ago also - but am really interested in the music they share and being up to date with it myself.

I’ve been reading that FB is all upset over Apples new privacy settings. I don’t know all the details of what the conflicts are but more power to them. If anyone could tame FB a bit, I’ll watch and eat popcorn while it happens

Back in the late 1980s, When I was doing all the wild land surveying work in the woods and swamps. My partner Dwight and I, who worked with me, met a retired fireman out of Chicago. Dwight and I both had long hair and ZZ Top beards. We spent time catching rattlesnakes for fun and going on fishing trips in the Ten Thousand Islands until we ran out of booze. And when we were not working in the swamps, we liked to hang out in biker bars.

Well Roger, the retired fireman, liked to drink and started hanging out with us. He had gotten an associate biology degree after he retired and started taggin box turtles around the area and keeping track of them for the Archibald Biological Research Station. He lived in an upscale retiree park when ch was upscale prefab homes, in Lake Placid FL.

He hated his neighbors because they were all Conservative, uptight, Moral Majority, fucks. So to fuck with them, he would invite Dwight and me to come over, hang out for BBQ and drink lots of beer. And he would buy! Dwight and I would scare the crap out of his neighbors!

One night we were in his SUV and all of his shit faced, leaving the biker bar and came on a huge dead hog in the middle of the road. It was fresh and still bleeding. It must have weighed about 150 lbs. Roger said, “ load him up boys and we’ll make him into sausage! So Dwight and I loade the dead hog into the back of Rogers SUV and we went back to Rogers place in the retirement home and partied like hell all night. This was in the middle of July.

The next day, I was awoken by my wife in the afternoon, who said their was an irate man named Roger in the phone for me. I picked up the phone and roger started screaming at me asking why we left a dead hog in his SUV. I explained to Roger that he had told me to put that dead hog in his SUV. He said “Oh” and hung up.

Roger never invited Dwight and me to party 🎈 n he s lawn, ever again. I bet he never got that smell out of his SUV either!

You are lucky he could not move the thing by himself. You may have found it in your car, or on you lawn.
My friend and I swapped a dead squirrel around for a day to two, placing it his car hanging form the steering wheel, on my bed, in his sock drawer. Then there was the 11 pound catfish in the bathtub.

Man, you do not want to eat one of those hogs. They are really rank......or so I have been told by the hog hunters here.
I imagine Florida has the same hog problem as we to here in south Georgia. They are every where. They ruin everthing. Farmers will wake one morning to find that tens of acers of freshly planted corn had been rooted up and eaten by packs of hogs. People can shoot them anytime they like. But no one eats them. Not even dog food.

A guy I used to work with makes hog traps. The traps are placed near corn fields and baited. The hogs go in and the door closes. The hogs are later shot. Not very sporting mind you but with trapping, hunting, even with helicopters, the hogs still over run and ruin entire ecosystems. and crops.

Most of the people I knew that hunted them, would trap them alive and feed them clean feed and castrate them before they butchered them. The meat was good then.
