My daughter served him drinks at the bar, in the restaurant where she works once. Talked to him a bit. Said he was a nice guy. But after hearing other people say who he was, she ran to the side and called me to find out what he was famous for.

Yeah, well I wouldn't expect many to know his name unless they were into progressive jazz. Surely, the X gen would not get it.

This was when she was still in school, working on her masters, so maybe 13 years ago. She just turned 40 two days after I hit 60. She’s widened her musical tastes by a lot since then.

My youngest son, now 30 (SHIT, REALLY?) knows of him but he has that gene from his grandfather who was really into progressive jazz. I had a couple of his albums but they disappeared with the rest of my collection. I'm trying to reconstitute my collection but the tape is getting really hard to find or is extremely expensive.
