First half of the track is a little ear-piercing in the higher freqs. The recurring synth riff could maybe do with smearing out a bit with heavy reverb, or some other modulation. Certainly sounds evocative of that landscape though. The middle section sounds nice and I'd have liked to hear it developed more as the return to the initial part seems a bit abrupt to me. Anyway, interesting ideas.

Take and EQ and trim the area above 3kHz 1.5 to 3 db. use a parametric EQ. That should trim the intro some.
I like the transaction arount 2 min. I am going to toy with this a bit with a couple guitar licks.

This reminds me of the soundtrack of "The Revenant" which I love very much. Very cool ambient sound work on that movie.
