That's way too many knobs!

That's not what she said! [fnarr!]
I've been watching some modular stuff on YT. Looks like fun to play with but I doubt it'd fit at all with how I work. Could maybe spark the odd idea for a track, but it seems too open-ended and directionless for my tastes/abilities. I like to be able to pick a pre-set and start playing right away. I saw a video a few days ago (think it might have been a Hainbach one) where he was messing on de-tuning oscillators and... I dunno, fucking about with noise gates or summat to produce this really basic two-note sequence at half-beat intervals and it just struck me that it's a lot of work tweaking the routing and whatnot just to produce something so musically basic, it honestly wouldn't even occur to me to use it. Like I say, it might be useful for shaking up my usual approach to writing - and to that end, I did actually download that VCV virtual rack plugin, though I couldn't actually get it working - will have to have another go when I get a new comp.... but it is just fundamentally at odds with what I do. Seems like an odd thing to say, but I do basically just operate within a pop music framework, rather than that avant garde shit.Lasagna Pirate wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 11:20 pm 0CA7FEAF-8C31-4073-8FCE-92B323B0C506.jpeg
Here is the core of my ‘modular’ stuff.
There’s some modules that aren’t racked, I’ve been delaying ordering a larger rig.
I also have a Matrix Brute and miniBrute 2s in boxes. And about a dozen various CV desktop synths.
Also - it also works for the Logic Pro too (AU) and Pro Tools (AAX).
Sure but they go with mac 'n cheese and scotch instead of limes salt and tequila.
Nice set up Danish! But what a difference a user interface makes.Lasagna Pirate wrote: Tue Jan 19, 2021 6:18 pm @Dolly.
If you think about it.... all synths are modular at their core.
That seems to be the norm. Though I have not tried to do it yet, I could use FL Studio inside Logic. I’m thinking about doing it, so I can get that great FL mastering tool called Sound Goodizer!
Did you foodies yourself, use it. Explore.Trobador222 wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:55 pmThat seems to be the norm. Though I have not tried to do it yet, I could use FL Studio inside Logic. I’m thinking about doing it, so I can get that great FL mastering tool called Sound Goodizer!
