Back in the New Year!
Back in the New Year!
Hello peeps!
Has everybody made it into the New Year ok?
I got covid about a week ago and I'm still recovering.
Here is a photo of my new compy that I purchased late last year, and have been playing games on it (see photo bellow of my new compy).
I love my new compy,! I just finished a new game music video for the game "Stalker 2". You can find that here too: https://youtu.be/9K-CwnrFP7s
It features my original soundtrack music that I made for the game with my heavy guitar recordings, synth keys and stuff like that.
Anyway I hope everybody is well and safe and sound. I'm looking forward to a relaxed year this year!
Shout out to Heikkie and D.bill hope you're well my friends, keep rocking!!
All the best,
Alisha.

Re: Back in the New Year!
Hi Ash, happy new year to you as well sister! I must say that your new track is perfect in the this time. Great sound too. Loved how your guitars sounded and also liked that synth thingy too. Your vocals were mixed in the top notch manner and as a bonus, the game-themed video suited this track really well. I wish I could be arsed to start gaming too at the some point myself. Might be that I will. But could you share your specs about of your new computer?
Keep it Epic Sis!!
Cheers...

Re: Back in the New Year!
Hi there, Heikks!
My compy specs aren't the fastest, but it did cost me a bit. Here is a screengrab of my compy specs when I ordered my computer.
It was a custom build and I went for a little lower specs even though these specs are still pretty good and as I didn't want overheating issues which is common with PC's these days.
I have since added a secondary 2TB SATA SSD as I like having enough space to back up stuff and that it is fast.
Compy is fast enough for what I want it to do, and it runs happily enough on my desk (as per previous photo).
Hope this helps, games are so fun, something that I'm returning to after a longtime absent from them.
Thanks for your comments on my latest music video!
All the best, Ali.

Re: Back in the New Year!
Your CPU seems to be fast. My specs are these:
Dell Precision 3640 MT
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900K 10. Gen. 10 Cores
CPU @ 3.70GHz -Turbo 5,3Ghz
Dell Inc. 0D4MD1 (U3E1) Motherboard
Samsung SSD 2Tb Harddrive,
Seagate Expansion Portable 1 Tb External Harddrive
48Gb DDR4 Ram
Asus Monitor PA278QV (2560x1440@59Hz)
Intel UHD Graphics Card 630 (Dell)
Windows 11 Pro 64 Bit
I still want to get a new proper Graphic card, but otherwise I'm happy with my compy.

Those specs are great!
I don't think you will have any trouble playing games on that machine, but yeah a good graphics card is good to have for intensive games, video and rendering.
Have a great weekend!

Re: Back in the New Year!
Yeah I thought to get a 550€ graphic card at some point that is required for certain games.
By the way, I forgot to ask you about the corona, was it mild or heavy and did you have any heavy symptoms? Were you vaccinated before you got it?

Re: Back in the New Year!
Yeah but....
The thought of migrating all of my vsts over and all the passwords for licenses and... ugh. My anxiety makes it difficult for me to get any one thing done, let alone the 100 things that come with the fun of a new rig. I'd enjoy it once I was done with that, though.

Re: Back in the New Year!
I see. I don't use lots of VSTs myself - only few, because almost all of my 3rd party plugins are Rack Extensions i.e. Reason's own plugin format and I can install these in once via a Companion which is an installer app for these plugins. It also depends how organized you are regarding doing a clean install. I try to be as organized as possible just in case I need to reinstall my Windows 11 Pro. I wish my compy won't get phucked for at least the next 15 years, as the speeds of my compy would allow that.DollarBill wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:00 amYeah but....

Re: Back in the New Year!
My covid was pretty bad but less contagious to other people. I was bedridden for a couple of days and felt pretty terrible, it took me about a week to get over it. I have had 3/4 vaccinations but yeah, it wasn't fun.
Re: Back in the New Year!
D.bill, I have a lot of VST's too but it didn't take me long because my web-browser saves all my pass stuff.DollarBill wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:00 amYeah but....
