Got a new case
Got a new eurorack case! Actually it's used, old, and the transformer is a little noisy, but it's new to me. Same width as the others, but 4 rows instead of 3, giving room to grow and a spare case that needs filling. Wood frame, clear acrylic sides, so I can use silly lights to help hide the fact that in this 3.5 minute jam there isn't any thematic development, though I am happy with some of the weird sounds I'm getting through FM synthesis.

Wow this sounds awesome, very Silent Hill vibe, I love it $Bill! sounds like sirens and screaming ghosts. Well done!

Thank you! Of course if I were TRYING to get a Silent Hill vibe I would have failed, but it's great to hear I got in that neighborhood by accident.

Some suggest having a solid plan when it comes to modular. Keep it small and sane.
I prefer random impulse buys and chaos.

Re: Got a new case
The ambience in this sounds very mad. All the unusual sounds + the distortion = win!!

Thank you!
I have the power nearly torn out of the new case, waiting for the power I want to go on sale around new years, but meanwhile here's some resonant feedback EQ filtering of white noise with a little distortion, volume automation, and unsteady delays just for fun.

Yeah, when the sound went square-synthish, thought It sounded very cool. By the way, I guess you could control you hardware with a DAW as well?

I wouldn’t say I had a ‘solid plan’… more of a ‘general vision’.DollarBill wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:16 amSome suggest having a solid plan when it comes to modular. Keep it small and sane.

The minibrute for a touch of class, the Neutron for a touch of crass, the nw-1 for wavetable/sampling and lots of fx. Though the fx are mostly distortion/bit crushing currently, the Aira modules can be reprogrammed with other stuff.

Re: Got a new case
Yep, a few people make modules specifically for this. I've seen iPads and such used as controllers too, but the weirdest was a guy who lost his arm who built a "hand" that gives him two mind-controlled cv signals to control two whatevers when he plays.

Re: Got a new case
Well yeah, that was a nice beginning to something bigger.
And you know what, as a schizophrenic, I've already had at least 10 collabs with the guys inside my mind. They can move my body, affect my singing and more. So you can't wow me too much because of this. Anyway, I know that all kinds of multi-awareness kind of stuff are already possible.
