5 Reason's instruments as an effects
In this topic I will post how to use 5 Reason's instruments as an effects.
Today: Kong Drum Designer
1. Create "Kong Drum Designer" and unfold "SHOW DRUM AND FX" section.
2. Connect your audio source to "AUDIO INPUT".
3. Now you can use "MASTER FX" section for adding effects.
If you have any questions: Ask here!

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
A good topic!
It's true that the Kong's master fx-section can be used to route audio in it. If I remember right though, you can't map their parameters for the combi though? I think that the compressor of the Kong is really great to tame dynamics down. It's perfect if you want a quantized sound for the drums. Not been really trying everything out yet, might give it a shot!

Today: Thor Polysonic Synthesizer
1. Create Thor and unfold "Show Programmer" section.
2. Connect your audio source to Thor's audio inputs.
3. Then go to Thor's router.
4. Look at the picture for routing:
5. Now you can use Thor's "Delay", "Chorus" and "Filter 3".
To use "Filter 1", "Filter 2" and "Shaper" more complicated routing is needed.
If you want to use them - message me.

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
Yup, I have used these routings in the past and I actually released a Refill that used Malström as an effect just in the last month.
As about Thor, I think I'm going to make a Refill based on it in the same manner as I did with Malström. The formant filters as example, are something we don't have elsewhere.
Looking forward to your next one Mihail.

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
I told, that in this topic I wiil post how to use 5 Reason's instruments as an efects.
Next must be "Complex-1 Modular Synthesizer" RE (for those, who own it).
But routing is too complex, that I will leave it to you.
I will tell you few things:
1. Create Complex-1.
2. Connect your audio source to Complex-1's audio inputs.
3. Click to "SHOW CABLES", disconnect all cables, route "EXT AUDIO IN" to which effect section you want.
Remember to connect effect's outputs to "OUTPUT MIXER" inputs.

And latest: Scenic Hybrid Instrument
1. Create Scenic and click on "EDIT" button.
2. Connect your audio source to Scenic's "FX Input" (use "FX A" input, because "FX A" and "FX B" have the same effects).
3. Now you can use Scenic's effects.
Remember to enable FX section you want to use.

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
If any Reason's instrument has audio inputs, then for sure it can be used as an effect.
So, experiment!
So, experiment!

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
As we all know - Reason's instruments do not have a "Dry/Wet" knob.
If you want to use it - I know two ways to do it.
First way:
1. Create an instrument, you wish to use as an effect.
2. As we all know, Reason will create a mix channel for that instrument.
3. Create "Spider Audio Merger & Splitter" and spilt your audio to two parts.
4. First part connect to your device's mix channel, second part connect to your effect device (an instrument).
5. Now you have two mixer channels - one for "Dry" signal from your device, and one for your "Wet" signal from your effect device (an instrument).
Tweak mixer's volume faders to achieve "Dry/Wet" effect.
Second way:
1. Download this free RE: "Morfin XF Crossfader" (https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... rossfader/).
2. Create "Spider Audio Merger & Splitter" and spilt your audio to two parts.
3. Create "Morfin XF Crossfader" and connect your first audio split to input 1.
4. Connect your second audio split to audio inputs of your instrument device, you want to use as an effect.
5. Connect audio outputs of the instrument, you will use as effect, to input 2 of "Morfin XF Crossfader".
6. Connect "Morfin XF Crossfader"'s outputs to your main audio mix channel inputs.
Now you can move " "Morfin XF Crossfader"'s fader and got "Dry/Wet" knob.

Re: 5 Reason's instruments as an effects
Thanks Mihail for your effort to explain this to us. I have used these myself in the past, but I have zero experience with the Complex1 and Scenic as I'm still on Reason 10.4. The wet/dry tip was good. Never thought to use this method yet.
But yeah, it's so cool about Reason that one can experiment with everything in a modular wise.
