Cool dude. I should really fix my electric guitar again, it's a bit out of order.
Keep on doing what you do, I'd love to hear more stuff from you.

Re: My New EP
How did you go about making this EP? I guess most of it is in the box in Reason? I hear there are recorded things too, so I guess you play a couple instruments in addition to that?

Re: Anyone still motivated to make a full-lenght album?
Thanks man, but you don't have to send me money lol. I'll get it fixed, got some other friends with money that I can borrow from. I think my tracker stuff proves you don't need much (money) to make good stuff. The GAS is only in your head. Sure, it can be fun with new things, but do we actually NEED...

Re: My New EP
I like this a lot. Good progressions, melodies and sounds. Not sure what I'd call it either.

Re: What do you think are the biggest barriers to make better music?
I too often get stuck in complicated chords and too busy melodies. I'm trying to change this by making a melody, then start to remove notes and make it simpler. Also I think using less elements can be good for creativity. Choosing sounds that already sound good is another thing, that way you can red...

Tracker beats
Quoting this from another thread so people can find it. I've been a bit more creative lately, but not because of the lockdown. My main PC is not rigged in the new room yet, so I've been starting to use Fasttracker II, or more specifically a modern clone of it that works on modern systems (the origin...

Re: Anyone still motivated to make a full-lenght album?
Bandcamp is, from what I've understood, the best platform for selling right now (and has been for years). I buy stuff there all the time, mostly vinyl though, but you get lossless format downloads with that too. Yeah, I'm happy with the Paralytik moniker, been using it for a couple of years for my d...

Re: Anyone still motivated to make a full-lenght album?
Yeah, I think BC is the way to go nowadays. I have a few names I've used over the years, but lately I've been sticking to Paralytik. The crisis has fucked up my economy royally, not sure about how I'll survive the next month. Still waiting for the crisis package the government is working on. And yes...

Re: Anyone still motivated to make a full-lenght album?
My friend Bjørn just released an album. It's a mix of old beats he made some time ago and new stuff. He got two songs played on Jay Scarlett's Sounds Supreme podcast and one on Basic Soul Radio . Pretty damn cool if you ask me! Sending stuff to podcasts or blogs or similar media outlets is a good wa...

Re: Anyone still motivated to make a full-lenght album?
Unless all the tracks are joined by a common theme - EP or single by single is the way to go - audiences don't expect albums anymore but they do expect new output on a fairly regular basis. On the point of "motivated" now that I'm more or less housebound thanks to COVID19 I have the time to do a fu...

Re: Who would like a Combi2 in the next point-update?
It'd be cool with an updated version of the Combinator, but I chose alternative 2, it's not the most important thing for me. I'm doing pretty well with the Reason stock plugs as it is.

Re: Reasonably priced hardware spring reverb
Yeah, I like making stuff with hardware, got a pile of things but no space, haha. I usually record audio live, or program MIDI in Reason and send it from my soundcard into an old Akai MIDI splitter, then to the different gear to trigger it.

Re: Is being forced to be at home for a while making you more creative, music wise?
Yeah, they were all made in the Fasttracker II clone that eightbitbubsy/ Olav Sørensen has made. I've talked a bit with him over in the #modshrine channel on EsperNet IRC. Here's a link to his page if you want to check it out. I've used some drum samples I had lying around, but most of the "melodic"...
