Re: Delayed Gratification
I dig this. It's one of those tracks I can just hear all sorts of possible avenues of development. The skittery wee drum track is right up my alley. Love that synth that comes in at 0:36. I like that there's a fair bit going on in terms of layers of sounds. That vaguely Japanese-sounding piano riff ...

Re: Hallowe'en project: Cauld Lad - Grimoire
Wow, thanks Henry! Yeah, I was going for that sort of classic gothic horror vibe .: a mixture of threat and melancholy. There's a clarinet in there. I did actually try a bassoon at first, but I dunno.... I just love the sound of a clarinet. Glad you enjoyed the story too. I should probably try to wr...

Hallowe'en project: Cauld Lad - Grimoire
I know I'm a day late posting this here but I went to a gig yesterday, got a bit tipsy and forgot. This project takes a little explaining cos it's a fucking multimedia art installation (how 90s am I? ) It started off in late September with me deciding I wanted to learn 3D modelling and animati...

Re: A new artist name and the first tunage
Can't really comment on the mix as I've only got one working woofer on my speakers., but from what I can hear, it's solid. It's got a pretty old skool vibe about it which I like. The opening section had me thinking of 80s synth pop like The Human League or someone, but it feels more 90's once the be...

Can't believe I've just been ID'd by fucking Youtube! That hasn't happened to me in a pub for.... at least 10 years.
Yeah, sorry, can't watch it cos I'm not dishing out my debit card details just to prove I'm fucking 41 this month.

Re: Happy Halloween!
This is probably the least Hallowe'eny tune I can conceive of. First part sounds like a wasp pestering a picnic. I like the percussion section that follows it. That "yeah" sample just sounds completely out of place. The soft piano section that comes next is cool and should probably form the ba...

Re: BOOM!!
Never Give You Up: vocals are kind of overpowering the music on this one. Not sure why but there's like 8 seconds of silence on the end of it too. Seems odd for a song only a minute long. We Are Here For Metal: same unbalanced mix as the first I think. Is there no bass guitar on these tracks? Think ...

Re: Nasty bass thing
Sounds like it's about to erupt into some mental breakcore tune, like Venetian Snares or summat. Couldn't have resisted throwing an Amen break on this myself, but I guess if you're just sticking to the rack set-up, that's a bit trickier.... unless there's a module that can do programmable percussive...

Re: latest project: Heat Death EP
Thanks Heikki dude! Yeah, I played all the guitars and bass and bits and pieces of keys / synths and some of the drums - mainly the fills I think. Other stuff was programmed. Also did the vocals too, but obviously with some drastic pitch-shifting.
