How much time you spend behind your computer?
How much time you spend behind your computer in daily basis?
That's almost embarrassing to tell, but I spend 8-12 hours a day, ( ) even though because I'm rather working and not just sitting all day just networking on the forums or watching youtube, netflix etc.
I don't watch TV nowdays at all, the last time I opened a TV was, when I watched the Ice Hockey championship finals. (in this year Finland won by the way).
Anyways... even though my PC is on the whole day, I also make some food, clean my apartment, sometimes go to sauna, talk to my neighbours, go to city for shopping, brush my teeth, exercise (with the weights or going for a jog). I drink lots of beer and party as well.
And when it's xmas, or some other holiday or a birthday, I travel to meet up with my relatives and friends.
But yeah, I love working on the sound-design and geek up something interesting related to the sites I have founded, also making graphics and for fucks sake, MAKING MUSIC with Reason of course.
I don't think there's nothing wrong with my life-style though, as one gotta do something. I think I'll go for a jog now so I have a better health to be a geek LOL!!
How about you?

2 hours in the morning.
2 hours in the afternoon.
2 hours at night.
Or in general 6 hours.
After all I'm disabled.

Re: How much time you spend behind your computer?
I start my pc when I wake up, then sit here most of the day if I'm not out and about. Dunno how many hours exactly.
I don't watch films or series at all, but I spend a lot of time on Youtube checking out music and stuff.

I also put my PC on right after I wake up and then make some coffee. Then I check my emails.

Plugged in when we can, depends on the task or project (if doing RE coding and design, or music production, recording, artwork...)
Going through a stack of sample libraries (about 15yrs worth of magazine sample collecting as well as refills and libraries which most would consider as rare, putting them all onto a 1tB spanking new drive and getting either LoopCloud or ADSR Manager to start sifting through the lot.... probably take another year or so turfing out the crap lol)
9-5 on a work's pc, so that 8hrs, plus occasional hour or 2 in the evening (unless other tasks need doing)

I never count the hours, but when I'm at home, I'm behind the pc. Also mainly doing stuff, whereby I usually mix work and fun at the same time. I mean : Why not ? ! Life's too short to spend it exclusively working your *ss off Have some fun ffs
Smile, be happy, let your heart speak. Don't let the negative crap get to you either.
I'm veering off...
On average I can spend anything from 8 to 24 hours behind the pc, making music or writing (I'm also writing a few books and I do poetry too, mainly on poetry.com, user Andrew Sparrow, haven't been active for a while there though, too occupied with the books and all...) or something else. Sometimes I can be watching some documentary or show while writing or researching for one of the books etc...
BUT...I find it utterly essential, a NECESSITY, to keep yourself balanced, and whatever time you spend inside, you MUST go outside and ground yourself, which is best done by interacting with nature itself, in whatever way shape or form. I usually go outside to meditate, and to contemplate the world around me. Inner peace and silence is a must when spending that much time behind a pc screen.
If you do not do that, you continue falling into that artificial world and you forget about your true self within, and the nature and life around you...
My record has been 32 hours straight, writing and researching online. Getting the facts straight about what I was writing for...
That was a few years ago though...

Re: How much time you spend behind your computer?
Sounds like a good philosophy to have. I don't spend much time outside, but today I think I'll head up to the park and catch the (probably) last mild sunny day of this year.
Re: How much time you spend behind your computer?
I don't watch much T.V either I'd rather be creating stuff - music, photography, socialising, shopping etc.. I spend lots of time at my workstation but do love equally to get out and about as per pending weather conditions. As we are at the 1st day of summer as of today, I'll be spending more time out and about!!

Yeah, you have a summer over there now, while in here, we have a winter. No snow yet, but it will come.Ashley wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:19 amI don't watch much T.V either I'd rather be creating stuff - music, photography, socialising, shopping etc..
